My therapeutic approach is eclectic and is continually informed through a wide range of studies and continuous training. However, the primary approach I utilize is Gestalt. In principle and practice, this means that I am concerned with your experiences as lived and understood by you. While Gestalt is primarily focused on the present, we will explore how your past may be impacting the ways in which you engage with yourself and with others. With increased awareness of the forces at play, we will assess both the benefits and limitations in how you respond to your experiences. From this work, you will be better able to discern between what is no longer working for you vs. what actually supports you. Once we are able to accept ourselves as we actually are, then change is possible.

One of the most powerful aspects of Gestalt is that it utilizes an active approach in therapy. In session, you will get to experiment with new ways of interacting with yourself and with others. Our work will focus on creating moments where you will get to experience change rather than just talking about it.

Ultimately, I feel the therapeutic process to be a unique, creative collaboration in which healing and growth are made possible through the shelter of a relationship where you can feel unconditionally safe and respected. I welcome you in taking this courageous journey and feel privileged to walk alongside you during this time.
